Bathroom Remodeling: A Functional and Stylish Transformation

By Frank Puente, General Contractor and Owner of Premium Residential Remodeling

Bathroom remodeling can transform an outdated space into a functional and stylish sanctuary. Our latest project for a young family required a bathroom remodel that balanced aesthetics with durability and ease of maintenance. Here’s how we achieved this bathroom remodeling project and a funny story along the way.

Bathroom Remodeling for a Young Family

Bathroom remodeling is both an art and a science. For this project, we used pebbles for the shower floor, providing a natural, slip-resistant surface that’s perfect for kids. The shower walls were adorned with ceramic tiles that mimic the look of beaten stone and fabric, giving the space a unique texture. These tiles were sourced from Interceramic, but unfortunately, this company has since gone bankrupt, making these tiles a rare find.

Key Features in This Bathroom Remodeling Project

Incorporating functional design elements is crucial in bathroom remodeling. We included shampoo niches accented with pebbles, ensuring they are easy to clean while adding visual interest. For a sleek and modern look, we opted for a single shower panel with large angled shower heads. This choice simplifies maintenance and enhances the bathroom’s aesthetic appeal.

 Ensuring Easy Maintenance

During this bathroom remodeling project, we prioritized materials that are durable and easy to clean. The pebbles and ceramic tiles we chose are resistant to wear and tear, making them ideal for a family with young kids. These materials ensure the bathroom remains beautiful and functional for years.

A Funny Incident

Every bathroom remodeling project has its quirks. We had to return for a warranty issue when one of the bathrooms stopped draining. It turned out that one of the kids liked to wash his pet in the shower, and all the fur clogged the drain! Despite this being beyond our usual warranty coverage, we fixed the issue without charge, understanding that kids will be kids. This incident highlighted the importance of our one-year warranty and our commitment to customer satisfaction.
